i spent a good deal of spring into summer saying a gradual farewell to my remarkable mother, with times of hope and optimism and other times of reversal and despondency. i canceled a race and did not feel inspired to write about my races.

my mom was a great supporter of my running and my posts. i feel i will be able to continue my posting in honor of her. and as i reflect on my mortality, it would be nice to have a record of my races for my children.
expect a summary of a marathon and yet another rainy 100 mile race from the spring.
and i look forward to 100 mile races in the next year in washington, arizona, nevada, and the florida keys.
